KCCA FC returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Wakiso Giants in the Uganda Premier league contest played at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso on Sunday.

Abdallah Mubiru coached side had gone four games without victory but needed Etienne Katenga and Emmanuel Angama goals to overcome Wakiso Giants.

Katenga gave the visitors the lead in the 14th minute before Hudson Mbalire restored parity in the 26th minute for the Purple Sharks.

Anyama who came on as a substitute netted a controversial winner for the Kasasiro Boys in the 57th minute.

Wakiso Giants goalkeeper James Alitho seemed to have made a save for Anyama’s goal but the assistant referee signaled to the referee that the ball had crossed the line.

KCCA FC held on to victory and are currently on 22 points, four points behind league leaders NEC FC.

For Wakiso Giants, there struggles continue and are now on a nine match winless streak. They remain in the Red zone with nine points in 12 games.
