The 2024 East Africa University Games officially commenced on Monday at Maseno University with Uganda’s representatives, Kampala University, IUIU and Makerere University Business School all in action.
Kampala University who suffered a 1-0 defeat to IUIU in their opening group B contest, thanks to a Tamubula Ismail sole strike
registered their maiden win at the 2024 edition.
Kampala University beat the hosts Maseno University 1-0 courtesy of a Lakomakech Bill first half goal in their second group B game.
In the other games, MUBS need just one point to qualifier for the knockout stage, the Nakawa based side have four points in their opening two matches of group D following their 1-0 win over University of Dodoma from Tanzania 1-0 and a one all draw against UCU.
Mbabazi Worrick Joe scored MUBS only goal in the win against University of Dodoma.
Bugema University,IUIU,Kampala University, MUBS, UCU, Busitema University, Mountains of the Moon, Bishop Stuart, Makerere University are the ten men’s teams that represented Uganda at the event.
The group stages set to climax on Tuesday and the top two teams from each group qualify to quarterfinal
