Real Madrid and Brazil winger Vinicius Jr won the men’s player of the year at the Fifa Best Awards on Tuesday, 17th December in Doha.

The Brazilian boycotted the recent Ballon d’Or ceremony after missing out to Manchester City and Spain’s Rodri but he picked up this prize in Doha.

Vinicius Jr is the FIFA Best Men’s Player of the Year

Vinicius played a vital role in Real’s Champions League and La Liga triumph last season, scoring 24 goals and providing 11 assists.

Spain’s Euro 2024-winning midfielder Rodri finished second to Vinicius for the award, while Real’s England player Jude Bellingham was third.

193 national team captains and also 196 national team managers voted for FIFA The Best with Vinicius Jr coming out on top.

Eighty Nine national teams captains voted Vinícius Jr. as the Best Player in World.

Uganda Cranes Captain Khalid Aucho voted Vinicius Jr as the best player for the year 2024 and ranked Lionel Messi second ahead of Manchester City’s Rodri.

England’s captain Harry Kane opted for Rodri, with his International team-mate Bellingham second and Vinicius third.

Lionel Messi went for Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr in that order.

The FIFA Best Men’s Player of the year Award is voted with the following criteria;

◉ 25% by managers
◉ 25% by fans
