URA FC ended Lugazi FC’s eight match unbeaten run with a narrow 1-0 victory at Nakivubo Stadium on Thursday.
Since his appointment in October, Steven Bogere had not suffered defeat as Lugazi FC head coach.
It was his brother Alex Isabirye who handed him the first loss of his Lugazi reign.
Ivan Ahimbisibwe netted the all important goal for the tax collectors to hand them back to back victories for the first time this season.
Isabirye’s men came into this contest after a 2-1 win over Express FC on match day 12.
Lugazi who had come from a goal down in their previous three games against KCCA FC, SC Villa and Mbarara City all ending in 1-1 stalemates couldn’t break down a resilient URA side.
Ahimbisibwe’s 23rd minute goal was his 9th of the season and currently leads the scorers chart, one above Allan Okello (Vipers SC)and Charles Lwanga(SC Villa).
URA FC are now fourth on the Uganda Premier league table with 21 points, six adrift of leaders NEC FC while Lugazi are 12th with 13 points.
