Express FC climaxed the first round with a 2-0 convincing victory over UPDF FC at Bombo Military Barracks grounds.
Super sub Conrad Ssenjogera and Sam Ssenyonjo scored the goals that handed Express FC all the three points.
Ssenjogera who was introduced at the start of the second half scored nine minutes later off Sam Ssenyonjo’s efforts.
Ssenyonjo extended the lead for the visitors from the spot in the 65th minute after Gagganga was brought down in the box by Frank Mugisa.
Victory temporarily takes Express FC to the third position with 25 points from 15 games.
The Army men remain in 11th position with 17 points from the same number of games.
The two sides now shift their focus to the 51st Edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
UPDF was drawn against New Life Katereke of Nsangi at the round of 64 while Express will play Red Devo FC from Amolator.
The round of 64 Uganda Cup games are expected to be played between 10th-20th January.
