Uganda Cranes head coach Paul Joseph Put has on Wednesday, 8th January named a provisional squad of 36 players to begin preparation for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The Belgian tactician has included teenagers James Bogere, Isima Magala Mulala and Brian Ijara in the squad.
Bogere was the top scorer in the CECAFA Region U-17 AFCON qualifiers that were held in Kampala at the end of last year, scoring 7 goals.
SC Villa’s Charles Lwanga, Paul Mucureezi (NEC FC), Emmanuel Wasswa (Express FC), Enock Ssebaggala (NEC FC) have been named in the squad as well.
Ronald Ssekiganda and Denis Omedi who were part of the Uganda Cranes Squad that qualified for the AFCON Tournament are also part of the provisional squad.
Vipers SC midfielder Abdul Karim Watambala and Ivan Ahimbisibwe of URA FC misses out on the named squad.
The CHAN tournament will be Co-hosted in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania from February 1st to 28th of the same month.
