Ugandan offensive midfielder Allan Oyirwoth has officially been unveiled by American club New England Revolution

Oyirwoth joins New England Revolution on a long term four year contract with an option of an extension of one more year.

Oyirwoth has two caps with the senior national team The Uganda Cranes having debuted in the World Cup Qualifiers against Somalia and also featured in the friendly against Kuwait early last year.

The highly-rated Pakwach-born midfielder was instrumental as the Uganda Hippos (U20) won Silver at the All Africa Games in Ghana last year.

New England Revolution Head Coach Caleb Porter says he is excited by the signing of Oyirwoth and hopes he plays to his potential,

“Allan is a talented young midfielder with a tremendous upside and I’m excited to help him reach his potential,” Porter said.

“At only 17, Allan is gifted technically and has a frame and range athletically that profiles well for MLS. With time to develop in our training environment, I’m confident he can blossom into an impact midfielder for our first team.” He added

Oyirwoth has previously featured for Amus College in the Schools Competitions and Gomba in the Buganda Masaza Cup.

He also had a six month spell at the Brooke House College and Academy in Leicester at the start of last year.

Oyirwoth will become the second Ugandan player to feature for New England Revolution after striker Edward Kizza who played for the club in 2021.
