Resty Nanziri announced her arrival in the India Women’s League with a goal as East Bengal beat Kickstart Karnataka FC 2-0 in the first game of the season.

The Crested Cranes striker recently left B.93 Copenhagen in Denmark and joined East Bengal in the Indian League.

Nanziri was on target in the 49th minute of the game to double the scores following Sandiya Ranganathan first half goal.

Nanziri’s transfer to East Bengal automatically made her the third Ugandan player in the Indian Women’s League this season after Fazila Ikwaput and Aminah Nababi.

Ikwaput features for Gokulam Kerala and was part of the club’s 1-1 draw against Odisha in the second game of the day.

Nababi who recently signed for Sethu FC, is also expected to debut in the club’s opener against Sreebhumi FC on Saturday afternoon.
