MLS Next Pro side New York Red Bulls II have announced that midfielder Ibrahim Kasule has signed a new two year contract with the club.

Kasule’s initial contract expired and after a series of positive negotiations a compromise was reached to sign a new one that will keep him at the club until 2026.

The former Wakiso Giants offensive midfielder has been an outstanding figure for the New York Red Bulls II since his move from Uganda in 2023.

He has scored a total of 22 goals and got eight assists from the 48 games he has played for the Ibrahim Ssekagya coached team.

He is currently the joint-second all-time leading goal scorer in the club’s history and also holds a club record for most number of goals (15) scored in a single season.

Ssekagya is delighted with Kasule’s new contract and highlighted his importance to the club.

“We are happy to have [Ibrahim] Kasule back with the squad” said Head Coach Ibrahim Sekagya “He is a talented midfielder that has a nose for the goal, and we are excited to keep him with our club.”

Kasule was named in the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Best XI and won two MLS NEXT Pro Player of the Month awards in July 2023 and March 2024.

His compatriot Steven Sserwadda is also expected to sign a new contract with the club after his initial contract expired at the end of the previous campaign.

Striker Frank Ssebufu recently departed the club as the club opted not to renew his employment contract.
