Former SC Villa head coach Dusan Stojanovic has been named as the new assistant coach of Sudanese giants Al Merrikh SC.
Stojanovic will be an assistant to his fellow Serbian Milutin Sredojevic Micho who has been named the new head coach of Al Merrikh on a one and half year contract.
Just like Micho, Stojanovic has been a free agent since parting ways with SC Villa at the start of the ongoing season.
Stojanovic unceremoniously left the Villa four months after guiding the Jogoos to their 17th Uganda Premier League title.
Stojanovic has previously worked as Micho’s immediate deputy at Zamalek and the Zambian national team.
Former Uganda Cranes French fitness coach Franck Plaine will also be part of Micho’s technical team under the same capacity.
Plaine served as a fitness coach during Micho’s second stint as the Uganda Cranes coach.
Algerian Hajji Musa Belaili will complete Micho’s crew as the new club’s performance analyst.
It should be noted that Sudanese giants Al Merrikh and Al Hilal currently compete in the Mauritanian Premier League due to a prolonged political unrest in Sudan.
Al Merrikh currently sit distant 10th on the table while Florent Ibenge’s coached Al Hilal are 6th on the log with six games in hand.
