Emmanuel Tayebwa claimed the overall victory at the Stanbic January Mug that was held on Saturday, 25th at the Uganda Golf Club.
Tayebwa came out on top at the first monthly Mug of the year that attracted over 240 golfers who showcased their talents. To clinch the overall victory, Tayebwa had a score of 65 C/B.
Following his triumph, Tayebwa expressed his delight and expects more victories in the forthcoming events.
“It feels amazing, it’s a very nice feeling to come out and play well. Everytime you come out on the course you want to out to compete not to try and win. It’s not a question of giving others a chance or not but respect every shot.” Said Tayebwa
Rital Apell Akot, the Chief Information Officer Stanbic Bank was also impressive in the ladies category expressed their commitment towards the development of golf in the country.

“This being a Stanbic Bank sponsored event, it’s run monthly and the climax is always at the end of the year. Every quarter big prizes are given out and I think there’s a lot to expect especially in terms of growing the game.” Revealed Apell

“The turn up was really good, we had over 240 players. We are really happy and we expect the numbers to remain the same or slightly more than that.”
