KCCA FC is taking it’s battle with the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) over Gavin Kizito Mugweri’s case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The 13-time Uganda Premier league champions lost their game against Mbarara City by forfeiture for fielding defender Kizito who was ineligible to feature in the game due to card accumulation.
KCCA was dissatisfied with the FUFA disciplinary committee ruling and lodged a petition to the Appeals Committee which was dismissed.
According to KCCA FC Board Member Keeya Mwanje, the club is ready to challenge the decision to the last stage.
“We are going to challenge FUFA’s decision in the court of arbitration and we are willing to go up to the last stage. We assure our fans that we are taking this issue serious for the good of the football industry in the country. FUFA has made a lot of insensitive decisions.”
“We can’t leave such decisions to go unchallenged since next time it will affect another club.” Said Keeya
