Vipers seek to stretch table leadership as Bengo’s Struggling Wakiso Giants visits

Vipers SC will be seeking to extend their lead at the top of the Uganda Premier league table when they host struggling Wakiso Giants on Friday at Kitende.

The Venoms have also won seven consecutive games and lead the table with 46 points.

They come into this contest after a narrow 1-0 win over Police FC, thanks to a Yunus Sentamu sole goal at Kavumba.

Wakiso Giants on the other hand shared spoils with second placed NEC FC in their previous league game.

Steven Bengo coached side find themselves languishing in the Red zone with 14 points they have collected in 19 games.

Vipers beat Wakiso Giants 2-0 in the first round meeting at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso.

Vipers will be without Annest Ankunda who is ruled out for the rest of the season. Captain Milton Karisa also remains sidelined while Derrick Ndahiro and Isaac Ogwang returned to training but are to miss the game due to lack of fitness.

Defender Alex Komakech will miss Wakiso Giants trip to Kitende while Herbert Asiimwe and Isaac Mtengwa are out injured with respective injuries. Arinda Ambrose is also out.

John Ayala Luyinda currently serving as Vipers co-head coach, striker Kenneth Kimera, Grant Matsiko and Bashir Ssekagya will be facing their former paymasters.

Wakiso Giants also has familiar faces that have featured at Vipers in goalkeeper James Alitho, William Kizito Luwaga, Rahmat Ssenfuka, Tom Masiko.
