Vipers SC is edging closer towards a seventh Uganda Premier league title after thrashing Mbale Heroes 6-0 on Wednesday at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

On the same day, their closest title rivals NEC FC stumbled against BUL FC in a 1-1 draw at Lugogo.

The stalemate between NEC FC and BUL FC means that the Venoms only need just one win from their remaining three matches to clinch the title.

To inch closer to the title, Vipers needed goals from Milton Karisa, Yunus Sentamu, Allan Okello and Substitutes Mohammad Salem Ekbab and Kenneth Kimera.

Vipers are now on 65 points and seven above second placed NEC FC and could win the title at BUL FC over the weekend.

In the other game played on Wednesday, soon to be dethroned Champions SC Villa shared spoils with KCCA FC in 2-2 draw at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.
