The group stage of the Bika Bya Baganda football tournament climaxed on Thursday with the top two teams in each group progressing to the quarterfinal stage.
In group A, holders Ngabi Nsamba along with Nseenene prevailed to the last eight after finishing with six and four points respectively.
Olulyo Olulangira and Mbogo bowed out with four and three points respectively.
Kkoobe and Ndiga were the top two teams in group B with seven and five points while Kasumba and last year’s runners-up Mpindi had their journey end at the group stage.
Mutiima Musaggi and Ngo progressed to the quarterfinals from group C while Njaza and Butiko bowed out.
Mmamba Kakobooza was joined by Ngabi Nnyunga in the quarterfinals after finishing first and second in group D. Nkima and Lugave will have to wait for next year following their exits.
In the Quarterfinals, holders Ngabi Nsamba will take on Ngabi Nnyunga in the early kickoff on Wednesday at Muteesa II Stadium while Mmamba Kakobooza will battle with Nseenene on the same day in the late kickoff.
Kkobe will lock horns with Ngo while Mutiima Musaggi will entertain Ndiga in the other quarterfinal contests on Wednesday. Both games will be played at Kabaka Kyabaggu in Wakiso.
The winner between Ngabi Nsamba and Ngabi Nnyunga will take on the victor between Kkobe and Ngo whereas Mmamba Kakobooza and Nseenene will face off with the winner between Mutiima Musaggi and Ndiga in the Semifinals. The semis are slated for Saturday, 31st May at Wankulukuku with the final scheduled for 7th June at the same venue.
