Mujib Kasule has slammed Uganda Premier league clubs for not complaining over the limited prize money they earn at the end of the season.
While appearing on NBS Sport, Kasule also criticized FUFA for allocating limited prize money to clubs.
“Clubs in the Uganda Premier League seem comfortable with what they earn as prize money, because they do nothing and don’t talk about it season in, season out.” It looks like the clubs are happy with the prize money. I’ve not seen them complaining.”
The Ugx. 500,000 given to Mbale Heroes is disrespectful. Somethings are better off not doing if you know that they’ll bring ridicule, harm, disrespect or shame,”
Said Kasule before adding,
“FUFA gets Ugx. 17bn from government. Why can’t they direct some of that money to the league, since they own it. Why do they put all that money to the national teams? The league feeds the national team.” He stated

After being nominated for a fourth term as FUFA President, Moses Magogo hinted that in his next term they will try to solve the issue of prize money. He also stated that it’s been one of the major challenges during his time in office.
FUFA pays Shs128m in prize money with the winner of the league banking Shs60m while the bottom placed team earns Shs500,000.
Vipers SC President Dr Lawrence Mulindwa rewarded his beleaguered troops for delivering the seventh Uganda Premier league title with a token of appreciation worth Shs200m.
