Butambala have finally confirmed their head coach for the forthcoming 2025 Buganda Masaza Cup.
Hassan Mubiru will be the man in charge of Butambala for the championship slated to kickoff on Saturday, 21st June.
Butambala had earlier agreed terms with Buddo SS head coach Richard Malinga to take on the mantle but the move collapsed due to funds.
Mubiru has previously managed at Butambala leading them to the 2006 semis and quarterfinals in 2007.
He has also worked at three time competition winners Mawokota leading them to the 2008 Semifinals.
As a player he previously featured for Sports Club Villa from 2003 -2006 and also captained Kasese Town FC in 2001/2002. He also played for the Uganda Hippos Team.
Mubiru also managed at Kibibi SS, Edgars and previously served as Sports Officer at Butambala.
Butambala have never won the prestigious Buganda Kingdom organized event and are in Muganzirwazza group along with Kyaggwe, Ssingo, Kabula, Kkooki and Mawogola.
Buddu will host Gomba on Saturday, 21st June at Kitovu Sports Arena in the opening game of this year’s championship.
