NEC FC have embarked on their pursuit for forward Richard Basangwa.
Basangwa is one of the players expected to leave Express FC in a bid to explore greener pastures elsewhere.
NEC FC are racing against time to bolster their squad ahead of their debut in the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
However, initial talks between NEC FC and Basangwa’s representatives have been unsuccessful with both sides failing to meet a compromise.
Basangwa’s addition to the NEC FC offensive department would be integral as he can ably play on the flank but also lead the attack occasionally.
The gigantic forward joined Express FC at the start of the recently concluded season as a free agent and subsequently proved to be a pivotal figure for the Red Eagles.
Basangwa has a stint in Egypt with Wadi Degla but also played for Vipers SC and Gaddafi FC in the Uganda Premier League.
