Milincic becomes seventh foreign coach at SC Villa

Uganda’s record league champions SC Villa has on Friday confirmed the appointment of Serbian tactician Nemanja Milincic.

Milincic replaces Morley Byekwaso who part ways with the club on Thursday, 19th June.

The Serbian coach who has a UEFA Pro national license, UEFA B license, UEFA C license and previously served as assistant coach at Bulgarian national team in 2022/23 will certainly Herculean task in waiting at SC Villa.

He becomes the seventh foreign tactician to manage at the 17-time league champions, others are Englishman Geoff Hudson, Serbia’s Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic, Serbian Zivojnov Srdjan, Spanish Antonio Flores, Greek coach Petros Koukouras and Dusan Stojanovic.

He is also the fourth Serbian tactician to manage the club after Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic, Serbian Zivojnov Srdjan and Dusan Stojanovic.

Milincic’s fellow country men Micho and Dusan have both delivered success at SC Villa while Srdan Zivojnov was unsuccessful and sacked just seven games into the 2011/2012 season.

Micho was in charge of the Jogoos between 2002-2004 winning two league titles while Stojanovic’s magic delivered a 17th record extending title ending the club’s 20-year title drought.

SC Villa finished sixth on the Uganda Premier league table as they were dethroned by Vipers SC, in fact they were 24 points below the Venoms.
