Uganda Cranes offensive midfielder Travis Mutyaba has joined Tunisian giants CS Sfaxien.
Mutyaba’s move comes after his long-awaited departure from French 4th tier side Girondins Bordeaux after one season.
The former SC Villa midfielder returns to North Africa having previously featured in the Egyptian Premier League with Zamalek SC.
Vipers SC recently expressed interest in signing him but his priority was a move to North Africa.
Mutyaba becomes the second Ugandan player to play for CS Sfaxien after Yunus Sentamu who featured for the club between 2014 to 2015.
He is also the second Ugandan in the Tunisia’s Ligue 1 currently after Club Africain’s Kenneth Ssemakula.
CS Sfaxien, also nicknamed as the Arabian Juventus, are eight time champions of the Tunisian League as well as three time (joint-record) winners of the CAF Confederation Cup.
CS Sfaxien will be aiming for an improved season having finished 7th on the league table in the previous season.
