Seven time Uganda Premier league champions Vipers SC have agreed to extend Abdul-Karim Watambala’s stay, Swift Sports Uganda understands.
Watambala’s previous contract at the Kitende based side expired in June this year but this website has established that the midfielder has decided to renew his contract with the club for at least two more years.

Watambala was vital in Vipers’ double triumph last season and his stay is a boost to the club who are to have a busy 2025/26 campaign that will include CAF Champions league football.

He joined Vipers from St Mary’s Secondary School Kitende the feeder of the senior team in 2019. In 2023, he renewed his stay at the club for a further two years.
Watambala has spent six years at the club winning four league titles and three Uganda Cups.
Tanzania giants Simba SC had expressed interest in his signature in this transfer window.
As earlier reported by this website, midfielder Patrick Mbowa and goalkeeper Alfred Macumu Mudekereza extended their contracts at the club.
Vipers have already completed the signing of NEC FC midfielder Enock Ssebaggala and Liberian striker Mark Yallah in this window.
