Taddeo Lwanga is in the advanced stages of returning to Vipers SC, Swift Sports understands.

Lwanga is currently a free agent and has been training with the Venoms during the ongoing pre-season.

The Uganda Cranes defensive midfielder parted ways with Rwanda’s APR FC in June following the expiry of his contract.

Lwanga is expected to be a direct replacement for Siraje Sentamu whose contract with the club has not been renewed.

Lwanga played for Vipers between 2017-19 before joining Egyptian side Tanta Sports Club.

He went on to play for Simba SC and Djibouti moneybags Arta Solar7 before joining APR FC.

Locally, Lwanga kick-started his career at Express FC before joining SC Villa in 2016 and eventually moved to Vipers.

Vipers have so far signed Enock Ssebagala, Nigerian Odili Chukwuma, Liberian striker Mark Yallah and Congolese defender Kevin Dasylva Bady.
