The third edition of Katabalo Memorial tournament has officially been launched at Uganda Clays grounds Kajjansi.
Katabalo Memorial Tournament is played annually at Uganda Clays grounds Kajjansi in remembrance of the late Joseph Katabalo, the founder of Kawotto Saviours Primary School a school that has natured many in the community
Big Sam Kisakye, the son of the late Katabalo, appreciated the sponsors for joining them in celebrating the lost hero,
“We appreciate all the sponsors for joining us celebrate the late Katabalo for the third consecutive years we expect a very successful tournament as we a lot of trust in the organising committee”
“We have a lot of gifts to give to the winners, so I call upon more teams to join us.”
John Baptist Lwebuga the chairman of the organising committee, confirmed the number of teams to participate in the tournament,
“We expect over 42 teams to take part in the third edition that will also have women playing football.”
“The tournament will officially kick off on Sunday 24th-August with Kajjansi Daily Market playing against Wembley Kajjansi and will climax in December on 25th.”He added.
A team to take part in the tournament has to pay shs.100000/= as registration fees.
Bajaj FC and Kitende are the past winners of the tournament.
