The Federation of Uganda Premier League Associations (FUFA) will inject Shs2.5Bn into the Uganda Premier league.

Thr development was approved by the FUFA Executive committee.

The Shs2.5bn shall be injected in the UPL per season in the bid to grow the flagship of competition to self-sustaining levels for at least five years.

The FUFA Executive Committee also approved the following:
1) to create and implement the FUFA Competitions Development Programme (FCDP)
2) to create a fund called “FUFA Goal” that will provide resources to finance the FCDP
3) 2.5bn UGX shall be injected in the UPL per season to grow our flagship Competition to self-sustaining levels in at least 5 years
4) More resources be found for the FUFA GOAL to finance other FUFA Competitions and the reforms thereat

FUFA and the UPL board will on Tuesday meet with the clubs to discuss how the Shs2.5Bn will be utilized.

Over the years financial rewards have been a persistent issue for Ugandan football. Clubs invest a lot in resources, and logistics throughout the season but the financial return remains minimal.

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) distributes a prize money worth 128 million shillings among topflight division clubs every season.
