Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC will not take part in this year’s CECAFA Kagame Cup due in Tanzania.

The Venoms were not part of the draw conducted on Thursday at the Pan Pacific Suites.

This website has established that Vipers, who are also not taking part in the Fufa Super 8 confirmed their absence from the CECAFA Kagame Cup to the organisers who immediately notified NEC FC.

Vipers is currently in Kigali, Rwanda ahead of their pre-season friendly against Azam.

The tournament with 12 teams will run September 2-15th in the Tanzanian capital Dar es Salaam.

Last season’s Uganda Premier League runners-up NEC FC are Uganda’s only representatives in the competition.

NEC FC have been drawn against Rwanda Premier league champions APR FC, Bumamuru FC and Mlandege FC in Group B.

Tanzania Premier League side, Singida Big Stars FC are placed in Group A together with Garde Cotes FC (Djibouti), Ethiopian Coffee SC (Ethiopia) and Kenya Police FC.

South Sudan’s Al Hilal are placed in Group C together with Kator FC (South Sudan), Mogadishu City Club FC (Somalia) and Alahly SC Wad Madani (Sudan)

The games are to be played at the Azam Complex, Chamazi, KMC Stadium and the Major General Isamuyo Stadium.
