Jude Ssemugabi transfer saga finally over

Uganda Cranes forward Jude Ssemugabi has finally completed his move to South Sudan side Jamus SC.

The former Kitara FC striker was unveiled by the South Sudan side on Friday in a statement which reads,

“Ladies and gentlemen, please join us in giving a warm welcome to our superstar, Jude Ssemugabi, who arrived in Juba this afternoon!We’re thrilled to announce that Jude will begin his first training session with Jamus SC after tomorrow, as we prepare for the upcoming match against Al-Hilal of Sudan. His skills and talent will undoubtedly be a great addition to our team.Let’s show Jude love and support as he embarks on this exciting journey with us.”

The move puts an end to the transfer saga regarding the forward who was heavily linked with a move to Uganda Premier League sides Vipers SC and KCCA FC.

Singapore’s Brunei DPMM FC was also interested in Ssemugabi’s services. The Singapore based side was ready to sign the player in July this year.

Ssemugabi featured for the Uganda Cranes at the delayed African Nations Championships (CHAN), scoring once in the dramatic 3-3 contest against South Africa at Namboole.

He also netted in Uganda Cranes 2-0 win over Somalia in the Group G of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

Besides Kitara FC, Ssemugabi has previously featured for Kiboga Young and Ssingo in the prestigious Buganda Masaza Cup. At Ssingo he won the 2018 Masaza Cup title as well as finishing as the top scorer with eight goals.

Hassan Wasswa Dazo, Jaffar Kerepi, Martin Otwao, Ezra Bida, Rashid Okocha and goalkeeper Richard Anyama are some of other new players at the club.
