Wakiso Giants FC has completed the signing of former SC Villa striker Bashir Mutanda.
Mutanda has been a free agent since his departure at Maroons FC at the end of last season.
He joined Maroons FC last year when he parted ways with Eswatini giants Mbabane Swallows.
Mutanda joins the Purple Sharks who were relegated from the Uganda Premier League last season and is expected to boost their striking force.
He has previously featured for Vipers SC, Kirinya JSS (Busoga United), SC Villa and most recently Mbarara City.
The transfer window in Uganda closed on Friday last week.
The Purple Sharks are aiming for an instant return to the Uganda Premier League and will be under the stewardship of Baker Mbowa and Hamza Lutalo.
They spent five seasons in the topflight before their relegation in the previous campaign and will kickoff their 2025/26 Big league season against Young Elephant FC at Wakisha Recreation Ground on Sunday.
