NEC FC defender Jacob Okao has been ruled out for the rest of the season after sustaining an Achilles tendon rupture.
Okao got injured during Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Police FC in the league contest at Lugogo.
He was substituted after a challenge from Police FC player and looked in distress.
“Our defender Jacob Okao has successfully undergone surgery at Case Clinic after sustaining an Achilles tendon rupture.The surgery was courtesy of the FUFA Medical Insurance Scheme.He’s expected to be out for 6–12 months as he begins his recovery journey.” Read a statement from NEC FC


Okao has been a key part of NEC FC’s improved defense after signing from Maroons FC at the start of last season and was named as the club’s best player for the 2024/25 season.
