KCCA FC needed a late Sammy Ssebadduka strike to edge Express FC 1-0 on Thursday at Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo.
After FUFA’s decision to suspend the new league format last Saturday, fans at least showed up for one of the biggest fixtures in land. It was at least a decent number of fans unlike those who attended Express FC’s 1-1 stalemate with URA FC last Friday at the same Venue when the league was still under the new format.

Earlier this week, fans who had decided to boycott the 2025/26 season released a statement through their fans’ association that they had put an end to the boycott following FUFA’s decision to drop the controversial format.

Indeed they showed up for the rivalry between the Red Eagles and KCCA FC.
Ssebadduka gave the visitors the lead in the 71st minute when he tapped home a perfect Joel Sserunjogi corner to send the yellow and blue faithfuls into elation.
The home side came close to levelling matters moments later through Isa Kasule whose effort hit the woodwork.
Jackson Magera’s KCCA FC held on to their second win of the season and are now third on 8 points while Express FC are seventh with 4 points.
Express FC next host BUL FC on Thursday, October 30th while
KCCA FC welcome Calvary next Friday, October 31st 2025.
