Record Uganda Premier League champions SC Villa will be aiming for a third consecutive win when they host Kitara FC under the lights of Kadiba Stadium on Thursday.
The Jogoos are desperate to end a four match winless run against the Royals.
Both teams registered back to back wins with SC Villa edging Police 2-1 and a 3-0 win over Buhimba last week while Kitara beat Mbarara City 3-2 and 4-0 against Lugazi.
Kitara FC assistant coach Wasswa Bbosa is optimistic ahead of the trip to his former paymasters
“We have had great preparations for the game and we go there for positive results on Thursday. We give respect to Sc Villa but we are also an improved side compared to the beginning of the season”. Said Bbosa
SC Villa’s starman for the last two season Patrick Jonah Kakande is yet to feature for the side this term due to injury but returned to training this week. The game seems to have come too early for him while Charles Lwanga is expected to play after missing the trip to Hoima with a hip injury.
Zeljko Kovacevic’s side will have their hopes for a third win in Reagan Mpande who struck a brace at Buhimba along with Aslam Semakula and Najib Yiga who is facing his former side.
Kitara will be expecting inspiration from ex-SC Villa players Emmanuel Alex Wasswa who has started the campaign brightly along with Amir Kakomo.
Patrick Kaddu is once again expected to provide the goals for the visiting Royals.
SC Villa last beat Kitara in 2021 when they managed a 3-2 victory then. Kitara have since managed three wins and two draws in all competitions against SC Villa.
