Super Sub Ssebufu lifts SC Villa into third

SC Villa registered a third consecutive win with a hard fought victory over Kitara FC under the lights of FUFA Kadiba Stadium on Thursday.

Zeljko Kovacevic’s side were kept at bay until in the 66th minute when Frank Ssebufu scored the all important goal.

Ssebufu who came on as a second half substitute replaced Ibrahim Kasinde in the tightly contested affair.

The former Wakiso Giants striker headed past former Jogoos’ goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige for his first goal of the campaign.

Villa are now on 10 points and moved one point above BUL FC who play NEC FC on Saturday, 8th November 2025. BUL FC could go back above SC Villa if they win their matches on aturday against NEC FC.

Elsewhere, Police prevailed to a dramatic late 2-1 win away to UPDF, with substitute Derrick Maviiri scoring a last-minute winner to seal the points for the Cops.

Deus Bukenya had given the Cops the lead in the 65th minute before Rashid Faridi restored parity for the hosts with an 88th-minute equalizer.

Maviiri restored Police’s lead in stoppage time as his side moved up to second place, level on 11 points with leaders KCCA, who top on goal difference.

The army side remain third from bottom with just three points from five matches.
