Uganda U17 Boys national Football team (Cubs) wrote more history at the 2025 FIFA U17 World Cup on Saturday as they eliminated Senegal at the round of 32.

Uganda continued with their surprise run in Qatar with a shock 1-0 victory over the highly fancied Young Lions of Terenga.

In the 15th minute, Walusumbi gave the Cubs the lead with a sensational strike just outside the area to send the fans in the stands into a frenzy.

To reach the round of 32 Uganda beat 2001 champions France in their final group game and against Senegal coach Brian Ssenyondo made no changes in the team that made history over the European giants.

Goalkeeper Edrisah Waibi denied the Young Lions of Terenga on several occasions in the first period of the contest.

In the second period, Senegal thought they had got a penalty when Bakary Sonko went down in the forbidden area but after VAR review the referee overturned his earlier decision.
