Uganda U17 Boys’ National Football Team will be without striker James Bogere in the Round of 16 game against Burkina Faso at the ongoing FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar.

The Cubs had their U17 World Cup carnival continue with a shock 1-0 win over Senegal on Saturday at the Round of 32.

The Cubs will however be without their talisman James Bogere for their contest against Burkina Faso due to suspension.

Bogere who has scored twice at the tournament in the Gulf was booked in the first half of the game against Senegal will be out for the crucial round of 16 tie.

Bogere was earlier cautioned against France which means the two yellows automatically rules him out of the next game.

The Bukedea Comprehensive School student Simon Wanyama is most likely to fill Bogere’s void.

Uganda will play Burkina Faso at the round of 16 on Tuesday, 18th November 2025. Burkina Faso needed Mohamed Zongo first half goal to beat Germany at the round of 32.
