KCB Bank Uganda Unveils the Kenya Day -KCB Golf Tournament Honouring Jamhuri Celebrations and Strengthening Regional Ties

KCB Bank Uganda has officially unveiled the Kenya Day-KCB Golf Tournament, a major regional event slated to take place on Saturday, 22nd November 2025, at the prestigious Uganda Golf Club. The tournament is designed to foster strong economic and cultural bonds between Uganda and Kenya while honouring the upcoming Jamhuri–Kenya Independence Celebrations, providing a high-level platform for corporate networking and strategic engagement.
The announcement was made during a launch ceremony held at Uganda Golf Club (UGC), where key business leaders, diplomats, and golf enthusiasts were in attendance, signalling the tournament’s significance as a key fixture on the regional corporate sports calendar.

Noela Byuma, Head of Marketing and Communications KCB Bank Uganda, highlighted the bank’s deep-rooted commitment to fostering talent and community growth through sport. “At KCB Bank Uganda, we see sports as a critical investment in national interest, a powerful engine for driving community development, youth empowerment, and national pride,” said Byuma. “Our support for the KCB–Kenya Day Golf Tournament shows our belief in excellence on the course, reflecting excellence in the boardroom, promoting discipline, integrity, and robust networks that sustain regional growth. We are especially proud to host this tournament as a pre-celebration of Kenya’s Jamhuri Day, further solidifying the strong ties between our nations.”

Echoing this sentiment H.E. Joash Arthur Maangi High Commissioner Kenya High Commission in Uganda added, “We are incredibly pleased to see KCB Bank Uganda championing an event that so beautifully celebrates the enduring friendship and partnership between Kenya and Uganda. This tournament is a wonderful way to commemorate our independence and foster camaraderie, both on and off the golf course. It truly embodies the spirit of regional cooperation and mutual respect.”

KCB Bank’s support for sports extends across diverse disciplines, including major involvement in rugby, volleyball and motorsport. Specifically, in golf, the bank has significantly amplified its participation in 2025, sponsoring marquee events like the recent KCB East Africa Golf Tournament, KCB Jinja Ladies, Toro Ladies Open, Mbarara Quarterly Mugs and KCB Westnile Ladies/Open Tournament and maintaining a strong partnership with the East African Golf Tour series. This sustained engagement solidifies golf as a pivotal platform for business engagement and mutual growth across the East African community.

The KCB–Kenya Day Golf Tournament promises a vibrant day of competitive play, strategic networking, and celebration of cross-border partnership. More than 200 golfers are expected to participate at the Uganda Golf Course on the 18-hole course. Players will compete in categories including Ladies Groups A, B, and C; Men’s Groups A, B, and C; and Seniors 55+.

Exciting side bets will include “Nearest to the Pin” (Ladies and Men) and “Longest Drive. With a green fee of 50,000 UGX, golfers will have the chance to “Swing for the Spirit of Kenya” and stand a chance to win an air ticket, courtesy of Kenya Airways, the official airline partner
