SC Villa moved into second position with a 2-1 win over NEC FC at FUFA Kadiba Stadium on Thursday night.

The Jogoos needed second half goals from Najib Yiga and Elvis Ngonde to overcome NEC FC under the lights of Kadiba.

Daniel Shabena got a consolation for Badru Kaddu’s NEC FC who remain winless under him.

Yiga gave the home side the lead just after the goalless first half after being fed by striker Frank Ssebuufu two minutes into the second period.

With three minutes to regulation time, Ngonde who came on as a substitute doubled Villa’s lead when he completed a brilliant move started by man of the match Hassan Mubiru.

Shaben got a late consolation for the visitors deep in stoppage time as Villa held on for a fourth consecutive win this term.

Villa is now second placed with 13 points, one below leaders Police FC who have played a game more while NEC are 12th with six points.

SC Villa next face UPDF FC next week while NEC FC will entertain Calvary at Lugogo on November 25th.
