Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC continued with their perfect start after a 2-1 win over Maroons FC on Saturday.

It was a game of two halves with the Venoms dominating the first period and Maroons had a decent second half.

Two minutes into the contest Derick Basoga connected a Yunus Sentamu effort into his own net to hand the Venoms the lead.

Usama Arafat Kiiza doubled the hosts lead with a wonderful strike in the 8th minute. This was Usama’s first goal in Vipers colour since his move from KCCA FC in September.

Abdul Karim Watambala nearly extended Vipers advantage midway into the first period but his effort hit the post.

Allan Okello who came on for injured Mark Yallah also had a decent chance moments after his introduction but goalkeeper Simon Tamale denied him.

Raymond Walugembe pulled one back for the visitors in the 58th minute.

Jackson Nunda came close to levelling matters for the charged Maroons side but his effort hit the side net.

The Venoms held on to a third victory after wins against Entebbe UPPC and KCCA FC. They are now on nine points in three matches and next make a short trip to Express FC on Wednesday, 26th November, 2025.
