She Maroons beat defending champions Kampala Queens 2-0 in the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League encounter at Luzira.
The encounter was marred by the untimely death of Faustine Nalugwa Kiyingi was serving as the She Maroons Performance Analyst.
Nalugwa who is also a former player of She Maroons, died from an accident at Nakawa on Friday night.
She Maroons honoured her with a spirited victory of Kampala Queens courtesy of second half goals from Lillian Kasuubo and Doreen Nakayiwa.
Nakayiwa broke the deadlock in the 51st minute before Kasuubo doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the 60th minute.
Kampala Queens had to negotiate the duel without their inspirational forwards Kamiyat Naigaga and Catherine Nagadya who missed the game due to injury and accumulated yellow cards respectively.
The Firew Hailegabriel coached side are second on the table with 17 points, five behind leaders Kawempe Muslim.
Kampala Queens will host third placed She Corporate in their subsequent game on Sunday 30th November at Lugogo.
Victory took She Maroons to the 6th place on 11 points from the eight games played so far.
