SC Villa ascended to the Uganda Premier League summit with a narrow win over UPDF FC on Tuesday at Bombo Military Barracks Ground.
The record league champions needed Ibrahim Kasinde sole strike in the second half to go top of the table.


The Jogoos also stretched their winning streak to five games after previous wins over Police FC, Buhimba United Saints, Kitara FC and NEC FC.
Kasinde gave the 17-time league champions the lead in the 65th minute of the game.
Reagan Mpande who returned to the side after national team duties came close to doubling Villa’s advantage but was denied by goalkeeper Abdul Kimera.
Zeljko Kovacevic’s men claim table leadership with 16 points, two above Police FC and KCCA FC.
Villa next visit champions Vipers SC on Saturday at Kitende.
Elsewhere, Maroons returned to winning ways with a 3-0 win over Lugazi FC in Luzira.
Raymond Walugembe, Jackson Nunda and Ivan Asaba netted for the Prison Warders.
