NEC FC registered their maiden win under the stewardship of Badru Kaddu on Tuesday under the lights of Lugogo.

Charles Waibi scored the only goal as NEC returned to winning ways.

Before Tuesday’s victory, NEC had managed just one win in their previous league matches this term and were winless since Kaddu took over from Hussein Mbalangu earlier this month.

NEC midfielder Siraje Ssentamu was rushed to hospital after a collision with Shamir Kimwero replacing him.

After a goalless first half, NEC were awarded a penalty in the 53rd minute after defender Eric Otingcwinyu had handled the ball in the forbidden area.

Innocent Media was entrusted with the responsibility but had his penalty saved by goalkeeper Hadji Shukuru.

Waibi’s goal came in the 72nd minute when he was fed by Innocent Media.

NEC moves up to ninth place with nine points while Calvary remain winless and are bottom places with just a single point in seven matches.
