Uganda Cranes Head Coach Paul Joseph Put has named a provisional squad of 30 players for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Belgian tactician called players who have been part of Cranes qualification campaigns both the Africa Cup and World Cup as well as CHAN tournament.
James Bogere who was impressive for the Uganda Cubs at the U-17 World Cup in Qatar scoring two goals is in the preliminary squad named by Put.
Bogere’s two goals at the U17 global showpiece were against France and Canada.
Alhassan Baba and Melyvn Lorenzen are also in the squad. The duo had their Cranes debuts during November’s international break. They played in Uganda’s friendlies against Morocco and Chad are also part of the team.
SC Villa captain David Owori and KCCA FC goalkeeper Charles Lukwago are also in the team.
The team is expected to depart for Morocco on Sunday evening and will have a training camp in Casablanca for 11 days.
Uganda is in Group C along with Tunisia, Nigeria and Tanzania. They will kick off their campaign against Tunisia on 23rd December, 2025.
