FTB Women Super League: Nakasi brace sinks Rines as Kawempe finish 1st round on top

Kawempe Muslim bounced back with a 2-0 win over Rines SS WFC in the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League encounter at Kabaka Kyabaggu.

Coming into the encounter, Kawempe had lost their previous game at home to Makerere University a week before and a positive reaction was required.

Striker Latifah Nakasi scored a goal in each half to ensure victory for the Ayub Khalifa coached side.

Nakasi got the opener with a header from Jovia Nakagolo’s cross as early as the first minute of the game.

She put the game to rest with a sumptuous free kick in the 90th minute which also took her scoring tally to six goals.

Kawempe head into the half season as table leaders with 28 points, two above second place She Corporate.
