SC Villa recorded a narrow 1-0 win over newcomers Calvary FC in a league contest on Wednesday at FUFA Stadium in Kadiba.

Aslam Ssemakula first half penalty was enough to hand the Jogoos maximum points.

The hosts were awarded a penalty in the fourth minute when Calvary skipper Stephen Oriokot fouled Najib Yiga in the forbidden area.

Ssemakula was entrusted with the responsibility and comfortably gave Villa the lead.

Moments later, Frank Ssebuufu had a decent chance to double the home side’s lead but failed to put away Frank Mulimi’s quality cross.

The Visitors tried to press for the equalizer but couldn’t breakdown Villa’s defence that was led by Tony Atukunda.

Villa goes into the league break in third place with 23 points in 10 matches while Calvary stay bottom with three points in 11 matches.
