The prestigious FUFA Drum returned on Saturday, 20th December with two games played on Match day three.
Acholi edged West Nile 1-0 in the mouthwatering contest held in Gulu.
Brian Obedi scored the all important goal for Acholi in the 27th minute of the game.
His goal was the difference between the two former champions on Saturday.
Acholi Province won the second edition of the FUFA Drum Tournament while West Nile won it in 2022.
Elsewhere, Kigezi Province overcame Bunyoro in the five goal thriller in the other game played on Saturday at Kabale Municipal Stadium.
Kigezi smiled to a 3-2 victory over Bunyoro who are under the stewardship of Henry Gama. Bunyoro were looking for a second consecutive win following their 2-1 win over Bugisu.
