Tunisia thrashed Uganda Cranes 3-1 in Group of the Africa Cup of Nations on a rainy Tuesday night in Morocco.
Forward Elyes Achouri netted a brace with Ellyes Joris Skhiri scoring the other goal for the 2004 African champion at the Olympic Stadium.
Substitute Denis Omedi found a consolation for Uganda in added time of the contest.
Eintracht Frankfurt’s Skhiri gave the Carthage Lions the lead in the 10th minute of the game heading home a Hannibal Mejbri corner.
Achouri who features for FC Copenhagen doubled Tunisia’s advantage five minutes to the halftime breather.
The forward completed his brace in the second period of the match to extend Tunisia’s lead.
Omedi who plays his professional football at Rwanda’s APR pulled one back for the Cranes in the added time of the game.
Tunisia go top of Group C followed by Nigeria who beat Tanzania 2-1 in the other game in the group.
Uganda next play Tanzania on 27th December 2025 at Al Madina Stadium in Rabat while Nigeria will lock horns with Tunisia on the same day.
