Uganda Cranes defender Elio Capradossi has reported back to club duty with FC Universitatea Cluj.

The defender didn’t feature for the Cranes at the 2025 Continental showpiece with FUFA President Moses Magogo and head coach Paul Put stating he was injured.

However reports indicated that Capradossi fell out with FUFA boss Magogo over the team’s qualification bonuses.

It should be noted that before Uganda’s opening game against Tunisia, players missed one of the training in protest over their bonuses.

Each player was to receive $10000 as qualification bonus but FUFA stated that the Ugandan government had not yet given them money to pay the bonuses.

Uganda had its campaign end at the Group stage with one point in Group C, following defeats to Tunisia and Nigeria and a draw against East African Neighbours Tanzania.

Capradossi has already linked up with the Romanian side for their winter training camp in Turkey after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.

His Romanian side will play three friendly matches against Fatih Karagumruk on January 6, Dukla Prague on January 11, and Widzew Łódź on January 12.

Under the stewardship of Cristiano Bergodi, FC Universitatea Cluj will return to competitive action on January 18 with an away fixture against Dinamo Bucharest.
