NEC FC has completed the signing of Express FC duo of Richard Basangwa and youngster Hakim Wandera.
At NEC FC, they join their former head coach at Express Badru Kaddu.
Basangwa has been one of the best performers at the Red Eagle since he joined the club at the start of the 2024/25 season.
When he left Egyptian side Wadi Degla, Basangwa joined Express on a two year employment contract.
Basangwa is a former player of Vipers and St. Mary’s Kitende who also had a loan stint at Gaddafi FC prior to his move to Egypt in 2022.

He also featured for the Hippos during the AFCON U20 tournament held in Mauritania in 2021 as Uganda won silver.
Wandera is young left back and will replace Mustafa Kizza who left NEC to join Kenyan side Nairobi United this transfer window.
Swift Sports Uganda understands that the two players have each signed two year employment contracts at NEC FC.

NEC FC will host Lugazi FC on Wednesday after the league recess while Express will welcome their bitter rivals SC Villa on Thursday at Nakivubo Stadium.
