Kitara FC returned to winning ways with a 2-1 win over UPDF FC at Royals Park in Butema on Wednesday.

Kitara who lost their previous game away to Entebbe UPPC before the league went into a recess responded with a slim home win on Wednesday.

Jimmy Kalema gave the hosts the lead in the 34th minute to send Butema into eruption.

Five minutes later, Crispus Asiki who replaced injured Patrick Kaddh doubled Kitara’s lead. Wasswa Bbosa’s side went into the halftime breather with a comfortable lead.

With four minutes to regulation time, Samuel Ssekamatte handed the visitors a lifeline with a sensational free kick but it was too late to stage a comeback for the army side.

Kitara pounced to victory and are currently on 22 points, one adrift of fourth plaved SC Villa while UPDF are 13th on 11 points.

Kitara next face NEC FC on 22nd January while UPDF will take on Entebbe UPPC on 21st January.
