Police leave it late against Calvary to go top of the table

Brian James Obedi and Umar Kasumba second half goals helped Police FC defeat relegation threatened Calvary 2-0 at Kira Police grounds to go top of the table.

The two sides played to a first half goalless draw.

Obedi scored the opener in the 74th minute off defender Richard Matovu’s assist.

Umar Kasumba sealed it off for Matia Lule’s coached side with one minute to full-time.

This was Police FC’s third consecutive victory before this fixture they had defeated KCCA FC 2-0 and BUL FC 3-1.

The Cops now occupy the top of the table position with 27 points same as Vipers SC in the second position.

Police FC plays Vipers SC next on Tuesday 27th January at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende 8:00pm.

Debutants Calvary FC are bottom placed with only three points their next opponent will be Hussein Mbalangu’s Calvary FC in Yumbe on Tuesday 27th- January.

At Luzira Prisons grounds Maroons FC and KCCA FC played to a goalless draw.

UPDF FC lost 1-0 to visitors Entebbe UPPC FC courtesy of Ambrose Kigozi at Bombo Military Barracks grounds.
