SC Villa will be seeking to close the gap on table leaders Vipers SC when they host Simon Peter Mugerwa’s Lugazi FC under the lights of FUFA Kadiba Stadium on Saturday.
The Jogoos are currently seven points adrift of table leaders Vipers who thrashed Buhimba United Saints 4-0 on Friday at Kitende.
SC Villa are on 29 points and victory over Lugazi tonight will lift them to second place on the table.
Zeljko Kovacevic’s men are seeking a seventh consecutive home win having won six of their previous league matches they have hosted.
Abdallah Mubiru’s Entebbe UPPC are the only side to have picked a point at Villa so far this term. At home, Villa has scored 16 goals and conceded just four.
Lugazi come into this game after a 2-1 win over BUL FC in their previous league match. In fact it was their maiden win since Mugerwa took over at the Lugazi based side.
Villa on the other hand shred embattled Mbarara City 6-1 with Frank Ssebuufu, Hassan Mubiru and Najib Yiga all on target.
Lugazi are yet to maximize points against SC Villa since they gained topflight status, losing twice and one draw.
Elsewhere, Police FC will seek to return to winning ways when they visit URA FC while Calvary will welcome Kitara, Maroon are to face off with Mbarara City in Luzira. NEC host Express FC in the other game on Saturday.
