Nine time Stanbic Uganda Cup winners SC Villa will travel to Pallisa to take on Pallisa Hospital FC in the round of 64 of the competition on Friday.

SC Villa head Zeljko Kovacevic says winning the Stanbic Uganda Cup will be key to the club’s immediate future and won’t take the competition lightly.

“We need this tournament as much as the Uganda Premier League. Winning it means qualification to represent the nation at a top tournament. We’re not taking any chances, we have to win our games and keep the silverware in sight.” Said Kovacevic

The Jogoos last won the competition in 2015 when they beat their rivals KCCA FC in the final that was held at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.

Zeljko’s side will be without goalkeeper David Lukwago while vice captain Hamis Diego Ssemugera returns from injury.
